Shantila F. Rexroat, DVM

Dr. Rexroat has been practicing veterinary medicine for 26 years and working in the field since 1989. She graduated from high school in Adair County KY. She attended Western Kentucky University for her undergraduate education and Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 1996. She is a mother of 3 and lives on a small farm in Columbia KY with her significant other, her two youngest children, their 4 dogs and horse. Her oldest child (Elizabeth) is a junior at the University of Kentucky where she is studying biology and will be applying to veterinary colleges this year (2023).

Dr. Rexroat bought her first practice in 1999 and with her partner(s) began two satellite practices. She currently owns Adair County Animal Hospital and Laser Surgery Center in Columbia and Co-owns All Cats and Dogs Veterinary Hospital with Dr. Allen Craig. Her specific interest within the industry are establishing high quality veterinary practices, mentoring young doctors and performing surgery. Geriatric medicine is also something she is passionate about. Her interests outside of veterinary medicine include travel, cooking, painting and gardening.

Allen Craig, DVM

Dr. Craig was born in Knoxville, TN. He grew up in a household with lots of animals, worked in a hobby fish store and later at the UT vet school. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from UT Knoxville in 1995 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UTCVM in 1999. He began working at the Lebanon Animal Hospital right out of school. He is married to Valerie, his wife of twenty three years and they have three children, Isaac, Isabella, and Eli. They currently live in Mt. Juliet, TN. They enjoy their chocolate lab, Moose, a boxer, Woodrow, and two kitties, Max and Captain Cuddles. Dr. Craig enjoys gardening, all things Star Wars and Marvel, and any activity his kids are involved in. They are members of Providence Church in Mt. Juliet. He is currently serving on the AAHA Practice Accreditation Committee to help determine the standard of excellence for small animal veterinary medicine in the United States and Canada. He is actively involved in a Veterinary Management Group and serves as the membership chair. This where he and Dr. Rexroat met years ago. He became the owner of the Lebanon Animal Hospital in 2012 and became co-owner of All Cats and Dogs Veterinary Hospital with Dr. Rexroat in 2022. His favorite areas of practice are internal medicine, especially urology and ophthalmology, behavior and anything that helps a parent better understand their pet. Education is his passion.

Mary Johnson, DVM

Dr. Mary Johnson obtained her DVM from Auburn University. Dr. Johnson and her husband (who is also a veterinarian) have 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a horse. In her spare time, she enjoys riding horses, running, being outside, and spending time with family. Dr. Johnson is originally from Greensburg, Kentucky and received her Bachelor’s in biology from Asbury University. Her career passions are equine medicine and small animal soft tissue surgery, but she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine! Dr. Johnson has been at a high-volume mixed animal practice in Birmingham, Alabama for the past year and a half, but is excited to be back in Kentucky and serve the Bowling Green area!
